First 5K Family Run

Today was our first Family and Friends 5K and it was awesome !!!

We all gathered in Hyde Park Square in Cincinnati for an easy and flat run. It was a little chilly but everybody made it. All the teammates were there. Other friends joined us. Thanks to Marion and Matt for having shared this time with us.

We were led by the little one of the group, Marina, and trust me, she settled the pace. Everybody enjoyed and had fun. We finished our run with a fresh brewed coffee and this was needed ;-)

Can not wait till the next one !

Thanks Team !!!

On your mark, get set, GoooOOO !!!

The 2015-2016 season has begun !

ToB brunch to start the season with a European push - Was it European ?!
The little growing TJ79 US team met for a brunch last Saturday and discussed the upcoming season. This past season has been terrific with amazing events and performances that include Marc and Matt at the Barcelona Ironman, Carine and Grace at the Dayton half-marathon, Jeff at the Grand Teton half-marathon and much more...
This year has been settled with great team training session. The famous Lunken airport loop for fractionated training and our comfy Ault Park for proprioception sessions will be at the "rendez-vous", In addition, there will be extra-training with MTB and swimming sessions that will add another flavor to it.
Let me give you the heads-up for this upcoming year.
We will start with the TOPO trail winter series (http://www.topoadventuresports.org/), followed by the annual mini-heart marathon in Cincinnati in March (www.heartmini.org).
About a year ago, we ran the VR Smoky Mountain half-marathon and we want to repeat that experience but in another national park. We are planning to run both the Grand Teton and the Yellowstone half-marathons. They are a week apart so we should be able to enjoy quality time together.

The big challenge for the team next year is going to race across the Bluegrass State in a 200 miles team race: That is going to be the Bourbon chase. Let me get that right: it is not going to be 200 gallons of Bourbon but just 200 miles of pure asphalt. I do not know which one taste better !

This is going to be a great year !
In closing, I would like to thank the Oria family and especially Marc. I am sure that I am speaking on behalf of everybody. Marc put a lot of effort in creating a family-like environment where everybody enjoys. This is working and thank you for bringing that here !

Hugs !

The 2015 season has begun !

Today was the first US Triatlo Jovent 79 meeting !
Good food, good beers but most of all, a good company, has led to the organization of the preliminary agenda for this year. The team is getting ambitious and will start the season with the annual mini-heart marathon in Cincinnati in March (www.heartmini.org), followed by the famous Flying Pig for the most audacious (http://flyingpigmarathon.com). Also, the Chicago Marathon might be one of the objectives during the fall season (http://www.chicagomarathon.com). Of course, the year will be flavored by many other events (e.g. boot camps, trainings, races...) and more get-together !
Keep up the good work !
Hugs!
