Long time without posting anything in the team webpage! I
know that all of us are running hyperbusy with work and workouts.
After my injury I did maintenance training trying not to
lose everything that I’ve got. I did a lot of Bkool trainer, which is terrible
for the mind but at least this intelligent trainer makes more real the rides.
Now I am much better and I started running and swimming again.
Back into program and back to push myself again to be ready
for the Altriman (Ironman) in France.
I am so late in the season to be in shape for the long
triathlon distance in July and for that reason I doubted to jump one year
without any Ironman in my legs ….. but after these few weeks coaching again the
UC Varsity women rowing team I change completely this idea.
These girls are amazing and I’ll tell you why in a few
sentences:
1-No matter what everyday at 5 am in the morning these girls
are in the gym/docks ready to go! 5 am!!!! I am considering myself a person who
likes to train hard and it doesn’t matter when but to be there everyday at 5 am
means to wake up around 4 am to eat something and drive to the club. This is
insane!!!!!
2-Cincinnati is not Barcelona where the weather allows you
to workout everyday in the water if you want. For your knowledge, rowers likes
to row in a boat and not in a tank or in an ergometer (Erg). Is like Cyclist
and triathletes like to ride outside and not in a trainer. These ladies row and
train half of the season or more just working out in ergs and gym!!!! This is
insane!!!!
3-This Superwomen not only row hard, also have jobs during
the day, homework to do and adding icing to the cake volunteering for the
Rowing Club.
All these things mean that these girls are in sleeping
deprivation, physically and mentally exhausted and you know what…..it’s a
pleasure to be there helping them at 5 am because they always have a big smile
and give you thanks for helping them. They don’t know yet but I owe them more
than I could possibly give them in return. I’ll try to give them my best and
help them to win, because is what they deserve.
Highly motivated by these SuperGirls from the Varsity Women
UC Rowing Team I change my mind and I start training hard and doubling sessions
in a day. Now not only doing bike on the trainer also I add to my program
weight workouts, runs, swims and also my old friend “The Erg”. I use to love
this machine! We were friends!! Now our relationship is in bad shape after this
morning! After the session with my heroes at 5 am I went home and remove the
dust from the erg, put batteries on it and start my session! Short but intense
one! 15’ warmup+30’ (30”hard-30”easy)+ Cool down. A bit of interval training to
get back soon!
Say no more!!! I want to die! WTF! Bloody machine!! This is not normal! I use to love erging… but
he has different opinion and always put you where you are.
At the end: 50’ erging
in 11km and the average pace during the 30’’ hard was 1:40-1:42 at 30
s/min. I don’t want to tell you what I was doing when I was a rower, so
embarrass.
No matter what I will fight as my heroes The Varsity Women
UC Rowing Team fights.
ROW HARD, NO EXCUSES and TRAIN HARD, RACE EASY
This evening let's run! Will be my punishment! hahaha
